In the spring of 2013, PFO Technologies developed a GPS bracelet for Civil Rights Defenders’ Natalia Project – the first assault alarm system for human rights defenders at risk. Natalia Project enables defenders wearing the bracelet to send out a distress signal to Civil Rights Defenders as well as onto global social media platforms, allowing people everywhere to immediately get involved and put pressure on the regime.
THE PIXEL PROJECT
In Spring 2013, PFO became one of The Pixel Project’s first technology partners. The Pixel Project is a complete virtual, volunteer-led global 501(c)3 nonprofit organization whose mission is to raise awareness, funds and volunteer power for the cause to end violence against women using social media, new technologies and popular culture/the Arts.
In September 2012, PFO developed the technology for a Nestlé UK’s We Will Find You campaign. Six GPS trackers, the exact shape, size and weight of a KitKat bar, were wrapped and sold throughout the UK in the Willy Wonka style scheme. Once the wrapper of a lucky bar was opened, a GPS position was sent to organizers who tracked down and awarded the buyer with £10,000.
